Bank statement Chrome extension

Convert PDF bank statements to Excel and CSV from a Chrome side panel. No separate web app to open, no account to create, balance reconciliation on every conversion.

Free during beta. 10 conversions a day, daily quota resets, no card on file, no signup, no credits that expire. Chrome Web Store review in progress.

Why a Chrome extension and not a web app?

Almost every other bank statement converter is a web app. You open a new tab, upload, wait, download, switch tabs back. Bank2XL lives in the side panel of the tab you are already on, including the bank's own download page. The PDF goes from the bank to the extension panel without you opening anything else.

For the rest of the workflow we use the same backend as the web converter: TLS upload, in-memory processing, optional 24h debug copy that you can opt out of per upload.

What you get

Same engine as the homepage: vision AI extraction with a balance-reconciliation post-check. The extension just gives it a more direct workflow.

Side panel workflow

Open the panel from the toolbar; it stays pinned next to the page. Drop the PDF, get Excel and CSV back without leaving the tab.

Reconciliation built in

Every account is scored against the statement's own opening and closing balance. A green pill means the math matches; a yellow pill means you see the delta before you import.

Works on any bank's site

The panel is available on every tab. The extension does not read page content; the only thing sent to our backend is the file you drop in.

Free, no card on file

10 conversions a day, every day, daily quota resets. No signup, no credits that expire, nothing to cancel later.

Scanned PDFs and phone photos

Drop in a photo of a paper statement or a low-quality scan. The Datalab Chandra OCR path runs automatically when needed.

Per-upload privacy switch

By default a 24h encrypted debug copy is kept to investigate failed extractions. Tick the "no retention" box per upload and nothing is written to disk after processing.

Common questions

Do I need to upload files to a web app?

No. The extension opens in a side panel inside Chrome. You drop a PDF into the panel; Bank2XL processes it through our backend over TLS and returns the Excel and CSV directly in the panel. There is no separate web-app UI you visit.

Does the extension work on every site?

The side panel is available on every tab. The extension does not read or scrape page content; the only data sent to our backend is the PDF you drop in yourself.

What about Firefox, Safari, or Edge?

The extension targets Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera) today. Firefox and Safari versions are not on the immediate roadmap.

Is it really free?

Yes, free during beta with a daily quota of 10 conversions per install. No card on file, no signup, no credits that expire. We want to measure real accuracy across a long tail of bank templates before we pick a price.

What happens to my PDF?

It goes over TLS to our backend, processed in memory, and a 24h encrypted debug copy is kept by default so we can investigate failed extractions. You can opt out per upload to skip retention entirely. See Data retention and the Privacy policy.
